Thank you for letting me sleep, you say as you leave. I look over your shoulder- my sofa is wrapped with your sleep, your body still in it, slowly awakening.

I watch you rise like morning steam from a green lake. My toes at the edge of the carpet. They dig into the seam. I take your place and disappear. Into thick dreams and a forgotten day. And night. I sleep.
